Living in Pinellas County  is a collection of lessons designed for beginning English learners and pre-GED students.  Here is information that everyone--newcomer and longtime resident alike--should know.  Topics range from general information about the county itself  to hurricane info, how to call 911, even violence and abuse.

The Living in Pinellas County files are in PDF format.  You need to have Acrobat Reader to view them.  To obtain a free copy of the Reader, just click on the Adobe logo (left).

Martha A. Lane, former Director of Information and Special Projects for United Methodist Cooperative Ministries, is the curriculum designer.  The units are written at the lowest possible level and make maximum use of photos, other graphics, and color as learning aids.  They are available free to anyone who wishes to use of them, as long as you do not sell them or post them on your website without requesting permission to do so.  Please do feel free to link to this site from your website.

This project was partially funded by a Florida Department of Education, Division of Community Colleges and Workforce Education, grant.  It is a collaborative project between the School Board of Pinellas County and United Methodist Cooperative Ministries/Suncoast, Inc.
